Organizing construction logistics outsourcing: a logistics strategy perspective

Purpose The construction industry shows an increased interest in how to manage logistics within projects. Often is outsourced a service provider (LSP). However, normally approached either as strategic decision or operational issue and rarely tactical concern. purpose of this study explore organize the outsourcing at strategic, levels. Design/methodology/approach This performed single-case corporation, containing (amongst others) building contractor (BC) equipment rental company (CERC) offering services. Findings that procure successfully, BCs need capabilities levels maintain alignment between use services characteristics. Simultaneously, CERC’s design their offerings correspond needs BC.
